Privacy statement customer

As from 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) came into effect. This European privacy law requires that companies, among other things, have to indicate how they handle personal information within their company. Hereby we would like to explain what this new law means for you and for our company.

Collection/use of personal information from customers, suppliers and other contractors
We herewith inform you that the personal information you provide us, will be collected and used by us, in order to close and/or execute a possible contract/order between our companies. This applies to both our (potential) customers and parties from whom we purchase goods and/or services.
In case you are a (potential) customer of our company, we will use your information to send you a quotation, to determine which specifications or requests a particular case or service must meet, to be able to make deliveries or to execute work for you, to send invoices and to communicate with you, quickly and efficiently, on the execution aspects of the agreement.

In case you are a (potential) supplier or other kind of contractor, your personal information is also necessary for the conclusion and execution of the agreement. At purchases it is necessary to be able to let you know what specifications or wishes of a particular case or service, are applicable as far as we are concerned, to be able to send you an enquiry or to place an order with you, to pay your invoices and to communicate with you, quickly and efficiently, on the other aspects of our agreement.

You are not required to provide us with your personal data. However, if you do not provide us with your personal data or if the information you provided is insufficient, it is possible that we cannot execute the work mentioned before.

Transfers to third parties
In connection with the implementation of any agreement with you, we may need to provide your personal information to parties who supply parts, materials and products to us or who execute work for us. Furthermore, we use remote server space for the storage of (parts of) our sales and purchasing administration, of which your personal information will be part of. For this reason your personal information is provided to our provider of the server space. We also use Microsoft Office and the associated storage for emails and other files. Finally, because we use a newsletter mailing service, your personal data will be passed to the provider of this service.

Personal data retention period
In case you send us an enquiry for a quotation, but you did not become our client, we will delete your personal information no later than one year after our last contact. Also if we have received a quotation from you, but we did not become your customer, your personal data will be deleted at the latest one year after our last contact. When you did become our customer or we became your customer, then we will keep your personal information for the duration of seven years after the end of the fiscal year in which the agreement with you is fully implemented. The seven-year period corresponds to the period in which we are obliged to preserve our records for the tax authorities. At the end of this period we will remove your personal information.
